Live Review of Telefonics at Docksider with the fabulous Bicycle Monarchs and our pals from Pittsburgh the Hope Harvey's

Telefonics continue to get more interesting at every show we attend. They have been honing their chops over the past couple of months playing out of town in places like Toronto and Pittsburgh. Now a six piece band, Telefonics packed quite a punch when they hit the stage.

The band obviously put some thought into their visual presentation with all of the members sporting black pants, white shirts and skinny ties. In stark contrast to this vocalist Gina Rullo looked quite seductive in a stunning red dress and knee high boots.

In addition to the driving rhythm section and quirky melodies the band incorporated samples of speech, various effects and of course Rullo's Theremin and Kaos pad. New member Matt Thompson handles backing vocals, keyboards and miscellaneous percussion instruments. He also gets a chance to practice his singing-through-a-megaphone technique with this band.

We were pleased to hear Telefonics do a very powerful version of Silver Plastic Space Bag.
