Telefonics - Colour Delux

When you hear the lead track from this Erie, PA band you think of Blondie's "Rapture" and also of the B-52s. It gets a bet stranger after that, but it is a welcome strangeness. With instrumentations ranging from muted trumpets to Pink Floyd keyboards to punkish guitar fire, this raging psychedelic mosaic is fresh and in some ways brilliant. The overall song structures are strong, bringing all the idiosyncrasies together in wondrous fashion.
